Buying a yacht

The right yacht may not be the one you were looking for.

A good purchase starts with questions, not listings. Our brokers look at how you will use the yacht before they present a single opportunity — on the market or off it.

Buying a yacht

What we look at first

  1. 01

    Intended use

Day trips, long summers or longer passages — how you will use the yacht shapes its size, range and layout.

  2. 02

    Cruising area

Home port, cruising grounds and season decide draft, speed, flag and where the yacht should be based.

  3. 03

    Guests & crew

How many people sleep on board, how you like to entertain and the crew needed to run the yacht comfortably.

  4. 04

    Charter potential

Whether the yacht should earn through charter when you are not aboard — and what that means for specification and flag.

  5. 05

    Running costs

Crew, berthing, insurance, maintenance and fuel: a realistic annual budget before you commit.

  6. 06

    Resale

Builder, model, condition and history all shape value. We think about the day you sell before the day you buy.

How a purchase works

  1. 01

    Your brief

Use, cruising area, guests and budget — shared in confidence.

  2. 02

    Shortlist

Yachts from our listings, the international co-brokerage network and off-market sources.

  3. 03

    Viewings & sea trials

Accompanied viewings and sea trials of the yachts that fit your brief.

  4. 04

    Offer & negotiation

We negotiate price and terms and prepare the purchase agreement.

  5. 05

    Survey

An independent survey and sea trial before you commit.

  6. 06

    Closing & handover

Paperwork, flag and registration with specialised maritime lawyers, then the handover.

Off-market

Not every yacht is publicly for sale.

Some owners prefer discretion, and many yachts change hands without ever being advertised. Share your brief in confidence and a broker will search privately — through our network and the international brokerage community.

  • Your brief stays confidential
  • No public listing, no inventory grid
  • A direct conversation with an experienced broker

FAQ

Buying a yacht

How does buying a yacht through Nautique Yachting work?

We start with your brief — how you will use the yacht, where, with how many guests and within what budget. Your broker then shortlists suitable yachts from our listings, the international co-brokerage network and off-market sources, arranges viewings and sea trials, negotiates the price, and manages the purchase agreement, survey and closing with you.

Can I buy a yacht that is not listed on your website?

Yes. Through our international co-brokerage memberships (including IYBA and YachtWorld) we can present almost any yacht on the market, and many transactions happen discreetly off-market. Send us your brief and we will search for you.

Can international buyers purchase a yacht in Türkiye?

Yes. International clients regularly buy yachts through us. We coordinate flag and registration options, tax and VAT considerations, surveys and the legal paperwork together with specialised maritime lawyers.

Do you help after the purchase?

Yes. Our relationship continues after closing — our after-sales team supports you with service and refit projects and, when the time comes, the resale of your yacht.
